Riddle: If you were running a race, and you passed the person in 2nd place, what place would you be in now?

Answer: You would be in the 2nd place. You thought first place, right? Well, you passed the guy in second place, not first.

Hint:

You didn’t pass the leader.

Why this answer works
By overtaking the runner in 2nd, you take their position. The person who was in 1st is still ahead of you, so you’re now 2nd.

Fun fact
Pacing strategy matters more than burst speed in many races; even small surges at the right moment can change positions dramatically.
